The eCulture Forum has been taking place in Switzerland for 10 years, addressing current topics relating to digitally networked culture. One of the highlights this year has been how to make the skills and knowledge of modern information communication technologies widely accessible. In particular, it is intended to address those citizens who have little or no contact with the new media due to their age or their rural situation.
The aim of the RURALENTER project is to build competencies in adult information communication technologies in rural areas in order to give them new opportunities for further education. Modern approaches for further education are based on virtual concepts, which, however, can only be applied if the necessary technical understanding is available. The communication of this technical understanding addresses the RURALENTER project. The results were therefore predestined to be presented to the public at the eCulture Forum. Numerous well-founded questions showed the great interest in the results of the RURALENTER project.
