The joint research project Smarter Privacy addresses the field of “software-based legal compliance in Smart Grid / eMobility”. Goal of the project is to ensure the legal requirements concerning data privacy protection and evidentiary value. Especially with dynamically changing market participants the innovation openness for future developments should be maintained.
The semantics visualizations designed in the competence center for Information Visualization and Visual Analytics at Fraunhofer IGD are investigated and enhanced for the purpose of presenting complex legal sequences. Based on the semantics visualization framework SemaVis, legal visualizations will be designed for specific roles in Smart Grids. Using these legal visualizations the market participants can verify whether their provided services are compliant to legal requirements, especially in the field of data privacy.
The project runs for 3 years and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. The consortium, led by SAP AG, comprises researchers and developers from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology KIT, IDS GmbH, Volz Innovation GmbH, Stadtwerke Ettlingen and Fraunhofer IGD.
